This fall, Samet is participating in the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) One Walk and joining them in their mission to create a world without type 1 diabetes.
Samet’s managing partner, Jay Kessler, has been participating in the walk for the past several years in honor of his daughter, Natalie, who was diagnosed with T1D seven years ago. This year, the Samet staff is excited to join Natalie’s team, Natalie’s Neighborhood, to make strides toward finding a cure.
Although the walk may look a bit different this year, JDRF is still encouraging friends and families to virtually participate, whether it be walking on a treadmill or running outside. In fact, this year’s goal is to walk 1.6 million miles for the 1.6 million Americans living with T1D, the organization’s most ambitious goal yet.
The JDRF One Walk will take place on Sunday, November 1, but at Samet, we are raising awareness and money for a whole month and creating a friendly firmwide competition out of it! As a team, our goal is to walk a total of 3,000 miles and raise $3,000 by November 16.
