This year’s Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) One Walk took place on November 1st, but the Samet staff decided to make it a month-long event in hopes to bring more awareness to type one diabetes.
After the October 15th deadline, Samet participated in a firmwide walking competition from October 16th to November 16th, where employees logged their miles for four weeks in hopes to reach the firm goal of 3,000 miles.
In addition to the walking competition, everyone was encouraged to make a donation to Natalie’s Neighborhood in support of Jay Kessler‘s daughter, Natalie, who was diagnosed with T1D seven years ago. The firm exceeded their fundraising goal of $3,000 by $1,800, raising a total of $4,800 to help find a cure for T1D!
After a close competition, Staff associate Daniel Waung took first place in the walking competition, with a total of 332.82 miles.
